How it works
Major Arcana uses Rider–Waite–Smith numbering from 0 (The Fool) through 21 (The World), with Strength at 8 and Justice at 11. Minor Arcana accepts Ace as 1 through 10; suit and deck context are needed for interpretation. Court cards are outside this numeric lookup.
Worked example
In the selected Major Arcana convention, 8 identifies Strength. In Minor Arcana, 8 identifies a rank only, not the Major Arcana card Strength.
