Journey Fuel Cost Calculator

Add the distances for each leg of your journey to calculate the total fuel cost.

Inputs:

• Distance for Each Leg (miles) - The distance for each segment of your journey.
• Fuel Efficiency (MPG) - Your vehicle's fuel efficiency in miles per gallon.
• Fuel Price ($ per gallon) - The current price of fuel per gallon.

Output:

Estimated total fuel cost for the journey in USD.

Formula:

Total Distance = Sum of distances for all legs

Fuel Needed (gallons) = Total Distance ÷ Fuel Efficiency

Total Cost = Fuel Needed × Fuel Price

Example:

For a journey with legs of 200 miles and 300 miles, fuel efficiency of 25 MPG, and fuel price of $3.50 per gallon:

Total Distance = 200 + 300 = 500 miles

Fuel Needed = 500 ÷ 25 = 20 gallons

Total Cost = 20 × $3.50 = $70
