How it works
Metric fuel = distance × L/100 km ÷ 100. MPG fuel = miles ÷ MPG, with price in the same gallon definition. Each leg’s fuel is multiplied by its entered price. Return mode doubles all entered legs, then whole-trip extras are added once and the total is divided by people sharing.
Worked example
A 100 km leg at 8 L/100 km and 1.50 per liter costs 12. A 50 km leg at 6 L/100 km and 1.60 costs 4.80. With 3 in extras, the total is 19.80 or 9.90 each for two people.
Using the result
Changing the unit mode clears leg data to avoid interpreting liters as gallons. Use different legs when prices or economy differ. Round-trip mode assumes the return uses the same inputs; for a different return route enter it as additional legs and select once.
Frequently asked questions
Are US and Imperial MPG interchangeable?
No. Select the correct gallon definition and use the matching price per gallon.
Should I double tolls myself?
Enter extras for the whole trip. The return multiplier applies only to the leg distances and fuel costs.
